After some 3-4 months1 of planning, halting, drawing, halting, building, halting, halting, and more halting, for the most part, Symmetry is finally launched! I know it’s surprising that I decided to launch the site even after two entries were only posted, plus the home layout looks kind of empty for the time being, but I really do feel that it’s time to launch it.
This would be my third subject-specific blog site that I’ve created away from my personal blog, and Symmetry focuses on my personal journey through health and beauty, with some hints of my love for coffee and tea. My other two subject-specific blogs, in case some of you are wondering, are Adri Mars (fiction/fanfiction/prose writing and anything related blog) and The NINPOJineous. I also have a collective hub that I still have yet to fix and clean up as well.
More in-depth information about the site is right underneath the About menu item on the left sidebar. Just click on the down arrow next to About to reveal the submenu items.
Why the long delay?
Ever since I started getting back into the Asian skincare routine2 that I began to look a lot deeper into my own well-being. I’ve had this realization for quite awhile now and the more that I started posting pics on Instagram regarding my new discoveries with skincare, something else triggered. My explorations and discoveries of connecting the dots together with my inner health and outer natural beauty deserved its own home. My Instagram is just my Instagram, nothing very specific. My skincare discoveries, as well as my daily health regimens as a diabetic really need to be chronicled journal-style, such as this one.
But, the more I’ve been building up my content, taking notes by hand regarding my tryouts of certain products in a separate notebook, the more I realized that this journal-style blog can be expanded into something more, something that may more or less influence visitors and the curious. I decided that I should also make Symmetry into a comprehensive health and beauty chronicle that may also help others who are like myself or simply those who are just plain curious.
Regarding the delay, for those who may have come here for a visit on a whim, or for those who started following my Instagram because of my health and beauty-related shots, I also would like everyone to know that health and beauty are not my only obsessions, just because my Instagram has many shots of them. I am also currently a web developer in training, in hopes of working full-time doing something I love and be passionate about for many years now. The cause of the delay is also because I am currently working on a client website project,3 as well as working on some site maintenance on a current client’s site too.
I also love to write in general, especially original and fan fiction. I also love reading books, and in some cases, review select books. And speaking of books, my Reviews section will not just be about health and beauty products, but also books related to health and beauty.4 I’ve written review articles before for many years, from The ADRICULOUS Life to Blogcritics Magazine. So, aside from cosmetics, health-related products, coffee, and tea, there will also be book reviews.
But most of all, my offline life had become hectic, but at the same time rewarding. I’ve been spending a lot with my not-so-ailing5 father and some of my family,6 been playing video games for many consoles,7 as well as continuing with my online web development classes. I plan on building some scripts and projects using Python, Ruby, PHP, or even something awesome such as free WordPress themes. Don’t worry about not understanding the latter I just mentioned. I’m a nerdette, and seriously proud of it.
Lastly, another reason why I have been delaying the development of Symmetry is that I have been doing a lot of intense, thorough research, both online and offline. I’m still new to getting to know more about beauty underneath the makeup.8 And along with just skincare, I also became interested in reading about the history of skincare in different nations, most notably in Asia.9
This is it for a welcome entry. I know it’s short and brief, but I do hope this would give you a quick insight on what Symmetry is about. I look forward to hearing from all of you if you do take the time to comment. Please look out for more in the near future!
Till next time!
