Adri

This is Me.

Here is a brief profile of my physical health, well-being, and features. I posted this up so you would all know why I go through certain routines that work for me (but not necessarily work for you) and why I share them. In that way, those who may have some similarities as me (health and beauty-wise) can share some tips too if they have any (and vice versa, of course). Most of all, we can learn something new from each other and how we can make our own health and beauty rituals a lot better in the near future.

For starters, here’s a basic profile about me:

  • AGE: 40 (as of 10/2016)
  • HEIGHT: 5’3″ (160.02cm)
  • ORIGIN/ETHNICITY: Filipino (Southeast Asian)
  • NATIONALITY: American
  • CURRENT RESIDENCE: San Francisco Bay Area (East Bay), California
  • WEATHER/ENVIRONMENT DESCRIBED: Very unpredictable. Our winters may not be like any winter and our summers may not be like any summer. In short, there are very constant weather changes in every season here in the Bay Area, and determining the type of health and/or skincare routine may be difficult to match against the weather next day.

Health Profile

  • Current Weight: about 150 lbs. (about 75kg)
  • Any conditions? Type 2 Diabetes (diagnosed in the early-mid 2000s)
  • Was there a time where you had to spend a few days at the hospital? Christmas Day 2011, when my blood sugar level skyrocketed that (temporarily) shut down my digestive system. Everything I tried to eat, I ended up vomiting them out. For about 2-3 days, I lost a significant amount of weight, but at that period, I never felt hungry and refused to eat.
  • How did you recover? Insulin injections until my blood sugar level was at the standard level. I was discharged the day before New Year’s Eve 2011.

Routines

  • Eating more organic foods, especially greens, explore other cuisines for healthy and delicious food.
  • Coffee in the morning, sometimes adding American Ginseng Tea granules for added benefits.
  • Korean Red Ginseng tea and honey in midday, afternoon, and night. Sometimes, I would drink other types of tea at any day. Avoid “packaged” tea like Snapple or AriZona tea.
  • Practicing and experimenting homemade/DIY foods, beverages, and sometimes, home remedies.
  • Diabetes (and related) medications three times a day.
  • Aerobic activity – constant physical activity at work. Sometimes, I would watch and follow my Zumba and U-JAM Fitness DVD at home.

Facial Profile

  • Slightly fair skin from natural genetics (both parents are naturally fair-skinned)
  • Normal to combination skin (oily T-Zone, dry cheeks). Sometimes, the entire skin would be dry or completely oily depending on the day, activity, and/or environment
  • Mismatched/uneven eyelids. My left eye has double eyelids, while my right eye has triple eyelids. The “third” eyelid appearing on my right eye may have been caused from the nasty styes that I used to get diagnosed of as a child.
  • ometimes acne-prone
  • spot discoloration on a few parts of the face
  • very small moles on some parts of the face (genetics, maybe? Mom has them too)
  • childhood chicken pox (possibly have a high chance of getting Shingles in the future)
  • childhood forehead wound, leaving a scar
  • childhood styes on both eyes (very harsh and humid weather and atmospheric conditions back in the old country)
  • burned skin on the left elbow from work-related injury
